mmmm. movies. just watched "the spanish prisoner," which reminded me how much i like david mamet and how odd rebecca pidgeon looks. it was fun. i went on a downloading spree earlier this evening, so i have lots of fun new interesting music to listen to.

work was very pleasant today. the goal of our clinic at the welfare office has been to establish a working relationship with the administration there and get them to be motivated to help the clients themselves. apparently we've done a good enough job that when we go to the office now, the clients never have any problems for us because the caseworkers and supervisors are taking care of nearly everything. this is really nothing short of a miracle and it's absolutely great to see, but it also means that we never have much to do at work anymore. this means the only questions people ask us are about Medi-cal and SSI, both programs i'm really not that familiar with. perhaps it's time to move the clinic to a new office... it's so fun to actually be in a position of sufficient authority to be making decisions about in which office we should run the clinic. people are finally listening to my opinions! whee!

tomorrow i turn into a machine solely designed to study administrative law. while listening to good and interesting music.

i am making good studying progress. i find all of this political theory stuff- why we have separation of powers, whether that should be a formal or functional distinction, which violations of separations of powers are problematic and which aren't- absolutely fascinating. too bad the cases in which it's discussed all are so deadly dry and boring.

i also dug out my favorite yoga tape and did half-nude yoga in the living room (my tank-tops always hit me in the face when i do downward dog, so i find leggings and bra to be the best outfit. once again, thank goodness i live alone). now i might treat myself to chinese food for dinner.

i overcame some social anxiety today. i've been hanging out a lot lately with veronica (my closest LA friend) and her boyfriend and his group of friends. but since his motorcycle accident, her boyfriend can't really socialize much, as he can't leave the house. so i was worried about whether or not i could hang out with the group even if veronica and johnny weren't there. but i called one of them and chatted and was personally invited myself, even without them there. so that's nice to know that i'm a part of the group, rather than an adjunct member.
