only wusses work out. the real way to get exercise is to go to ikea during a sale. you get your heart rate up panicking at how many people are there and how close together they're standing. you get to practice being a linebacker (or something, a football person) pushing people out of the way. you gain dexterity and quick response time weaving your heavy shopping cart with a broken wheel through the throngs. and when you realize when you come by yourself, there's nobody to watch the cart while you get the car, you get the added weight-lifting/sprint challenge by asking a stranger to watch your cart while you lug half of your purchases to your car and scurry back. thank god the yoga i've been doing has made my arms stronger (i can do pushups now! check me out!), because i was carrying two chairs, two big picture frames, and a heavy butchers block down three flights of stairs.

and then you get to carry it all in the house and put it together!

of course, i'm very pleased with what i've done with the awkward half-room in my house that's just been used to house big piles of crap thus far. i put away all the crap in an orderly fashion, i put down a big bamboo mat, i put two low chairs (with pillows that i spraypainted stars on) and a neat lamp from the ceiling, and now it's a nice corner to sit in. i feel watching "trading spaces" on TLC has really paid off.

tomorrow- i redo my closet doors!
